NIA Intercepts Terror Plot in Hamas Style: Weaponization of drones by a key aide of the Red Fort Suicide bomber is arrested. However, in a major breakthrough in the fatal car bombing at the Red Fort on November 10, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended a second suspect of the plot, which is a sophisticated terrorist plan that goes way beyond the first explosion. The arrested person is claimed to be a technical genius of a module that was about to trigger attacks in the spirit of Hamas with its modified drones and crude rockets.
It is the further development of the investigation into what security agencies are increasingly referring to as a highly radicalized state-based investigation of what is being termed a doctor module that is operating out of the National Capital Region (NCR) and Kashmir. The arrest followed a few days after the agency had arrested Amir Rashid Ali, another co-conspirator associated with the logistics of making the attack.
A resident of Qazigund, Jammu and Kashmir, in the Anantnag district, was apprehended in Srinagar by a special NIA team called Jasir Bilal Wani. The sources of intelligence talk of him as an active co-conspirator and collaborator strongly with the main suspect, who is Dr. Umar Un Nabi.
Although Umar Un Nabi is the suicide bomber who drove the explosive-laden Hyundai i20 into the crowd at the Red Fort Metro station, Wani had a different role to play that was technically complicated. The NIA reported that Wani was not just a foot soldier but the engineering head of the group. It is alleged that he acquired and altered commercial drones to deliver improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to drop them on crowded targets, similar to the actions in conflict areas such as Syria and Ukraine.
Investigators probe possible ‘shoe bomber’ role
In addition, researchers have discovered that Wani was also involved in the development of small rockets. These are said to be the type of projectiles which were supposed to be used in the sequence of the coordinated follow-ups to create the maximum panic and casualties in New Delhi.
The Red Fort Blast: A Summative of the Tragedy. The horrific incident on the evening of November 10, 2025, is directly associated with the arrest. A white Hyundai i20, which was being driven by Umar Un Nabi, exploded in the Red Fort area, a high-security area in the centre of the Indian capital. Upon him was the main offender, Umar Un Nabi, an Assistant Professor at the department of General Medicine at Al Falah University based in Faridabad.
