The Karnataka Revenue Department, run by the state government, has implemented an innovative scheme called ‘Bhu Suraksha Yojana’ to stop farmers from roaming around offices to get old original land documents. Now farmers will get the opportunity to get their land original documents in an easy and quick way. Complete information on this is shared in this column.
Revenue Minister Krishna Baire Gowda said that the main objective of ‘Bhu Suraksha Abhiyan’ is to provide a permanent solution to all the problems that are exploiting farmers, including unnecessary trips to government offices, and to make land records available at their fingertips.

He was speaking at the launch of a campaign to scan and digitize the records of the record room at the district administration office in Bengaluru city district under the “Bhu Suraksha” scheme today.
The exploitation of poor farmers by hiding and altering the original documents related to land grants (agricultural land records) has been going on for decades. The rush in government offices and courts is a headache for real farmers. On the other hand, brokers are not exploiting farmers as they used to.
The earners should be relieved from all these exploitations. Record rooms should be brought within the reach of the people. Our aim is that people should get the facilities they deserve in an easy and hassle-free manner. That is why the “Bhu Suraksha” campaign has been started, he said.
Land Record Digital System – How does the digital system work?
Farmers used to have to go to the Tehsildar’s office to get the original and old documents related to their land ownership, but now this system will be dismantled and farmers can quickly get the original land documents by submitting an online application on their own mobile phone or at Nadakacheri.

Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Baire Gowda-Fake entries have been made in many documents in Bengaluru. Minister Krishna Baire Gowda
Fake entries have been made in many documents in Bengaluru. Some officials are also involved in this act, resulting in a loss of thousands of crores of rupees to the government. The minister further expressed dissatisfaction that the government is also continuously losing money in the courts in the case of such fake documents.
In the past, due to the misconduct of some officials, government property has been systematically occupied by land grabbers. Such calamities need to be prevented in future. We are curbing this cycle through the land protection scheme. We cannot remain silent after losing to the fake deals that happened in the past. The officials have been told that if the documents are found to be fake, they should be handed over to the forensic department for investigation and proof of truth or falsehood.
We are also ready to provide the necessary financial assistance for the experimental room to help the FSL team conduct the research. There is no question of accepting defeat. If the document is found to be fake, we will fight till the Supreme Court, he said.
Revenue Department Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar Kataria, Revenue Commissioner Sunil Kumar and Bengaluru City Collector G. Jagadish were present.
